“Bring GCSE Dance to Your School — We'll Help You Every Step of the Way!”
Give your dancers the opportunity to gain a recognised qualification in a subject they love.
Do you run your own dance school? Have you ever considered offering GCSE Dance to your students?
At ArtsPool Education, we believe that GCSE Dance should be accessible to students studying at private dance schools, not just those attending secondary schools where Dance is offered as a GCSE subject.
We work alongside independent dance schools and their teachers, providing the guidance, expertise and resources needed to deliver a successful two-year GCSE Dance programme.
Why Offer GCSE Dance at Your School?
Adding GCSE Dance to your timetable offers exciting opportunities for both your students and your business.
For your students:
- Gain a nationally recognised GCSE qualification.
- Develop their performance and choreographic skills.
- Explore dance appreciation, analysis and evaluation.
- Build their knowledge and understanding of dance.
- Study alongside dancers they already know, in a familiar and supportive environment.
For your dance school:
- Expand your curriculum and offer something different.
- Provide progression opportunities for your older students.
- Encourage students to continue their dance training throughout their teenage years.
- Attract new students looking for GCSE Dance opportunities.
- Enhance your school’s reputation as a provider of dance education.
You’ve been such a solid support to me, I couldn’t have done this without you. I think ArtsPool does a fantastic job of providing everything the students need.
You Don’t Need to Know Everything About GCSE Dance!
You already have the practical dance knowledge and teaching experience. ArtsPool Education can help you develop the additional understanding required to deliver the qualification.
Whether you need complete support with theory teaching or simply mentoring and resources to help you deliver the course yourself, we can work with you to find an approach that suits your school.
Our aim is to make offering GCSE Dance manageable, rewarding and enjoyable for teachers and students alike.

“My whole experience with Sara has been brilliant. She’s always there to help, and nothing is ever too much trouble. The support she provides is second to none, and she genuinely cares about all our students’ progress.” 🙌
Here are a few suggestions to help you make the decision
Do you have the mental capacity?
GCSE Dance is a big subject to add to your already busy brain?
Dance teachers are renowned for overloading!
Time & curriculum planning:
Our ‘Introduce GCSE Dance’ programme is designed to run over two years, giving your students time to develop their knowledge, practical skills and confidence as they work towards their qualification.
Cost & value for money:
You’ll want to evaluate what the fee is for ArtsPool’s resources + what your dance school charges the students, to ensure it’s financially viable and offers value to families.
Student support:
Since your school may be outside a typical school timetable, ensure students have access to support for theory and practical.
Examination centre arrangements:
The AQA specification states that private candidates are possible, but the candidate must enter via an AQA school or college which will facilitate the entry, theory exam and uploading the non-exam assessment evidence. If your dance school is not registered as an examination centre, you’ll need to arrange the partnership with a centre that is.
Quality assurance / accreditation:
Make sure your delivery meets the AQA specification requirements (e.g., coverage of anthology, set works, practical component, written exam). Use the resources from ArtsPool to align with the spec.
What students have to say...
“I was nervous about starting the course as dance is not my strongest discipline but it was really fun, and gave me huge insight into the different types of dance & techniques behind them. I loved the performance lessons and learning about the specifics of each dance. Throughout Sara was very supportive and accessible outside of class times which made me feel more relaxed about it all. I am really pleased to have been able to study in this manner and completing the course before my actual gcse year meant I was more relaxed. It now makes dance sessions much more interesting and the styles and structure easier to get to understand.”
“Thank you so much I couldn’t have done it without you! I have loved having you as my dance teacher for the last couple years and I will forever appreciate all the support you have given me.”
“I just wanted to say that it’s been a pleasure being in your classes.
Thank you for all you do for your students.”
